EM9105 Energy Resources Management
Objectives

This introductory course provides an overview of energy resources management in the context of sustainable economic development. Topics include energy and human society, energy resources and reserves, supply, distribution, utilization, recovery and conversion, environmental impacts of energy utilization, energy economics and policies.

Outline

To provide general understanding of the various traditional sources of energy, their availability, quality and environmental effects in the context of sustainable development; To assess the current energy resource, energy demand and human dependence on energy; To provide an overview on the choices in energy use and conservation.
